Maintaing a three-month or year supply of food and personal needs is sometimes frustrating. Getting stocked up isn't always that hard, but replacing the food and things we use can be. For example, I bought lots of juice and gatorade and powerade a while back. I thought I was stocked up, but it didn't last long. Of course it is good that we use what I buy. It just seems hard to maintain a year-supply when we use it too. It is a big task to keep a three-month or year-supply of everything!
However, it is possible to get and maintain a PERFECT YEAR SUPPLY of non food items that will not expire or go bad. Like toilet paper, feminine products, bar soap, band-aids, toothbrushes etc. Have your storage supply in a place away from your 'everyday supply' and then don't use it, unless of course you need to. And you never have to think about toilet paper (or whatever) for your supply again! Try it, you'll like it.
This idea was brought to you by my neighbor Karen. She is almost a food storage guru!
Now, my question is how do you figure out how much toilet paper your family uses in a year? I decided that everytime we change the toilet paper roll, we will save the tube and put it in an ice-cream bucket (an empty one) and count the tubes at the end of the month. How many rolls of toilet paper do you think a family of seven uses in a month?
